Walking With God

Walking with God is somewhat many have sought yet very few have been able to discover the path, God in His own way have always sought for the attention of man to establish a relationship as we read in Gen 1:26, through Gen 5: 22-through the taking of Enoch the first man said to have successfully walked with God and at the end was extracted from earth to dwell with whom he walked with.

Let on take a look on the things we need to do in other to walk with God.

Take a decision.

One does not embark on a journey without taking inventory unless he's not planing to end well, the walk with God is something much more than a journey because you're walking with who knows the ending from the beginning. Luke 9:62 declares to us that no one who put his hand into plow and pulls back is worthy of the kingdom. To walk with God is a sweet venture of which many have sweet memory while at the same time many have been cut short because they looked back and became the pillar of salt.

Understand the precepts.

First you should know that it's impossible for two to walk together accept they have an agreement, Amos 3:3, to understand what it means to walk with God on a spiritual level, consider what it means to literally take a walk with a friend or relative, though the walk with God is on constant basis.  Ask yourself how you interact with that person. What do you expect from that individual, and how do you speak and behave in return? God in the other hand knows your thoughts and intents yet He gives you the will power to take decisions and as you take those decision you must remain in awareness of Him.
  • When you take a walk with someone, the two of you are traveling in one direction. Your steps move at a similar pace so that neither one of you leaves the other behind. You talk with each other and your attention remains one to the another. In short, there is an overall sense of harmony, unity, and community between the two of you during your walk. There's an expectation of
  • Agreement.
  • Awareness.
  • Communication.
  • Mutual Regard.
  • Focus.

Search His Word.

God in His wisdom has no intention for anyone who has chosen to walk Him to fail so what He does is give you his word which is a practical manual, Josh. 1:8, Psalm 119:105. There's a clear fact here that God want those who have taken the decision of walking with Him to succeed
There're bible verses that contains different examples of men and women who followed God, but to understand what it means to walk with God, look specifically for examples using that exact phrase—“walk with God.”
  • Enoch is the first person man in the Bible said to walk with God, and as such, he is possibly the most common example used to illustrate the concept.
  • According to the bible verses, "Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him" (Genesis 5:22–24).

Stay Focused.

Focus is a key, Like Elijah in his walk with Elisha, the passport needed from elisha at that point in time was his focus, 2king 2:10, All the people who had walked with God in their life the difference had always been how focus were they. To focus means to look-up to like in Heb. 12:1-2.
Verse one is very important if you really desire to walk with God.

  • Think again about what it's like to walk with a friend. If your friend spent the entire time on his or her cell phone rather than interacting with you, the walk would not be very enjoyable, and you wouldn't actually be walking "together" on a meaningful level. Similarly, the distractions you focus on instead of focusing on God can prevent you from really walking together with God.
  • Sins that you cling to create an obvious distraction, but they are not the only things you need to watch out for. Even things that can be beneficial can become harmful distractions if you are not careful. For instance, working hard and earning money to support your family is a good thing. If you become obsessed with work and money to the point of neglecting your family and neglecting your relationship with God, though, you have then allowed it to become a distraction.

Constant Communication:

Prayer is a communication and it's a great medium to walk with God talking with Him all always, Like the scripture says we should pray without ceasing 1Thess. 5:17 which actually means constant recurring in the greek translation, in other word; constant conversation in recurrance.

  • Think again about how you behave when walking with a friend. You may walk in silence sometimes, but oftentimes, the two of you talk, laugh, and cry together. Prayer is what allows the believer to talk, laugh, and cry together with God.

Obey God's Voice:

Jer. 7:23
But this is what I commanded them, saying, 'Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you will be My people; and you will walk in all the way which I command you, that it may be well with you.
Ex 19:5
Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine;
It is of great importance to obey but it's also very paramount for you to put yourself in the possition to hear Him.

Keep Walking Till The End:

No matter how many times you trip and stumble, you need to dust yourself off and continue walking. God will not turn you away,
Never let His Word out your sight. Josh; 1:8
